Allowing his own wits to catch up with himself, Xeb paused a little. So far, so good, he thought, pretending to find everything he saw in Outright's pit top his satisfaction with a nod of his head. Playing the mood by ear, the Twi'lek inwardly grimaced. Though used to being reasonably open when he had to, he chafed at the whole image he was attempting to convey: outgoing, sublimely agreeable, in a word: idiotic.

His racing suit only added to the portrayal, the red and gold lining very much fitting of a clown of his stature. In any case, he had to grin and bear it, consoling himself that the act was purely for a worthier purpose.

Looking over Katzl in more detail, Xeb wondered if the Lafrarian was such a purpose. As far as he could tell, she seemed non-threatening enough. Young, slight, and with a dash of innocence for good measure, Ctulu had all the makings of an uncut diamond floating in a sea of black coal.

Sith, she could be most brutal one here for all I know.

Checking himself before his musings wandered too far from reality, Xeb casually moved past Padre to where his racer was. Coming up to her all smiles, the Twi'lek suddenly stopped, a realisation washing over him.

Now how am I going to phrase this?

Caught finally without any words left to say Xeb found himself the author of a long period of awkward silence as he tried, as quickly as possible, to work out what he was goinig to say. In short, he wanted to learn more about the Lafrarian in general, her basic attitudes, her basic personality. The challenge was how to do that with any degree of tact.

"Erm...", Xeb began, smiling sheepishly.

Hi, I just dropped by because I was disillusioned with the competitive attitudes my team had towards the race and was wondering what your ones were, because basically I'll help you to win if they're similar to mine...

"Erm..."

That won't do at all!

Frowning slightly at his own lack of verbal creativity, Xeb allowed the silence to continue, wishing that he put more thought into this latest scheme of his, or indeed, that he put more thought into everything.

"Yes, well...wha...so how long have you been racing?"

Glad to have finally got the ball rolling, to a degree, Xeb found the words easier to come by.

"How long have you been with Outright?"

"Been in many races?"

"Well, this one is my first, and probably last..."

With the conversation going as smooth as he could have hoped, Xeb slowly worked his way towards asking the questions he really wanted the answer to.

"So how do you race? You don't strike me as the type to shut out other racers...but I guess you'll probably have to to win and all."
